Looking for Mr. Goodbar review

Fancying myself a movie aficionado, my hopes were high that it would be a movie appealing to the elite of the day. It was a little murky and just ok. However, I may have seen it at a drive-in movie. The screens at drive-ins were durable but not designed for movie premiers. I lack a good memory of the details of this movie but it had a predictable plot and no surprises. I should see it again so I can give a better review.

The Prophet review

My first encounter was a 33 1/3 disc which was standard for the day. Maybe it was my environment and state of mind but I was very receptive to the recording. Every step of the journey was a revelation that was genius. At some point, I read the book but it had less of an impact than the recorded version which was much more dramatic.

Mondo Cane review

I have watched parts of the movie by fast-forwarding through boring parts or parts hard to watch. So I did not think it was that lurid and was a bit overhyped. The question I have most for any movie of anyone tormenting themselves is doesn't it hurt? Maybe they like feeling pain but how does that happen.?Oh, some parts are silly more than shocking.

View of Delft review

In my early college years, oh, around 1969, this painting among other Vermeer works, somehow became my mantra of sorts. When stressed about just being and anxious about more concrete worries of the moment, to look and to contemplate the scenery or subject matter was very enjoyable. And it was on the spot comfort.
